PDM Promoters hauls 10,880 lbs of trash in 2015

PDM Promoters Inc., a non-profit group that cleans up and beautifies the Garapan tourist district, collected 10,880 lbs of trash in 2015.

According to PDM coordinator Sonia Siwa, they collected 1,520 lbs of trash in January, 1,540 lbs in February, 1,560 lbs in March, 500 lbs in April, 1,360 lbs in May, 1,320 lbs in June, 1,160 lbs in July, 860 lbs in November, and 1,060 lbs in December.

Siwa said that August, September, and October were months of typhoon recovery, during which they were not able to perform cleanups.

Despite the rain during their first cleanup of the year and Typhoon Soudelor in the middle of the year, the group pushed through collecting vegetation blocking the drainage systems, hundreds of cigarette butts, and pounds and pounds of beer bottles and cans.
