Patz still in the lead in Tag Team 8-Ball

Patz’s Pat Taitano and Pat Cepeda came back in the doubles matches Sunday to tie YNOT’s Rick Rengiil and Norman Tenorio, 4-4, and maintain a narrow lead in the 19th Hole Bar Islander Tag Team 8-Ball Tournament.
Patz leads the field with 30 points, while Taylor Watanabe and John Mongami’s Elaus took a 6-0 forfeit from Oneshot and surged to 28 points. Oneshot’s Ed Suzuki and Ron Chisato follow with 20.
IDC’s Quinton Ngirarois and Welson Apaisang passed Tasi’s Annie Tesiro and Ken Phillips in the standings with a 5-2 win Saturday. IDC has 19, YNOT 18, and Tasi 17 points.
Watever’s Walt Sutherland and Rose Phillips won 5-3 over Shotlokker’s Rodney Aldan and William Hart and ran their total to 13. Shotlokker has 11 points.
Watever and Shotlokker both have a make-up game coming against YNOT and could move up in the standings. YNOT is still the wildcard; they could be tied for first or at the bottom of the standings after the make-up games.
The league finishes this weekend, with the Sunday match between Patz and Tasi rescheduled to this Thursday. Elaus takes on YNOT and Oneshot faces off against Watever Saturday. Shotlokker meets IDC Sunday.
The teams play each other once with three best-of-three games series, every Saturday and Sunday, starting at 7:30pm. Each team member plays a singles match followed by a double pairing, with each win scored as one point. Cash prizes go to the Top 3 finishers, plus trophies for first to fifth place winner.
The 19th Hole is located in Lower Navy Hill. Coming from Garapan, it’s just before the Bank of Hawaii traffic light.
In addition to billiards, they offer darts and free wifi Internet. The 19th Hole is open from 4pm to 2am daily and features the Rock Island Band from 9pm Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
