The Patriot Angels cruised to a 23-4 victory over the Niners, as action in the Natibu Sports Association 2nd Annual All Girls Fast-pitch League continued at the Capitol Hill Ballfield.

After being threatened in the second inning of the Nov. 16 match, the Patriot Angels regained control of the duel en route to their second victory in as many games. The Patriot Angels debuted with a 15-14 come-from-behind win over Balas early this month.

Versus the Niners, runs from Destiny Pangelinan and Sunny Aldan put the Angel Patriots on top after one complete inning. The Niners, after being shut down at the bottom of the first inning, scored four runs at the bottom of the second to grab the lead, 4-2.

However, that was the only time that the Niners enjoyed the upper hand, as the Patriot Angels quickly countered at the top of the third inning, making seven runs to reclaim the lead, 9-4. Sunny Aldan, Kiana Aldan, Casandra Camacho, Christy Aldan, Victoria Pangelinan, Alannah Sablan, and Chanel Espinosa reached for the Patriot Angels.

Another seven-run performance at the top of the fourth inning stretched the Patriot Angels’ lead, while the Niners were still quiet. Destiny Pangelinan, Kiana, Christy, Victoria, Sablan, Espinosa, and Toremy Diaz delivered the runs for the Patriot Angels.

Despite the big lead after four complete innings, 16-4, the Patriot Angels showed no mercy and for the third straight time fired seven runs to complete the blowout and earn the early win after only five innings.

Sablan finished off the Niners at the bottom of the fifth after teaming up with Destiny Pangelinan for a 1-3 putout play on their opponent’s first and third batter. Pangelinan also got the second out for the Patriot Angels after catching a fly from the Niners’ second batter.
