Participants sought for Sanpo-En student exchange program
The Saipan Mayor’s Office is looking for participants for this year’s Sanpo-En Winter Cultural Students Exchange Program.
According to the mayor’s student cultural exchange program coordinator Yuki Kishimoto, this year’s trip is set for Feb. 3 to 9.
“This is a Saipan cultural exchange program so we are looking for locals especially Chamorro or Carolinian students to represent the island,” Kishimoto said.
Interested participants must be 12 to 18 years old.
The Mayor’s Office is looking at about 12 student participants for this year’s trip. Some chaperones from their office will also assist during the trip.
Students who will participate will have to pay for their own airfare but other expenses will be shouldered by the cultural exchange group.
“Same as every year, the students will pay their own airfare but the accommodations in Japan such as transportation, meal, and lodging will be covered by the Sanpo-En group,” Kishimoto said.
Application forms can be picked up at the Mayor’s Office or downloaded online through their website, www.saipanmayor.net.
Kishimoto said the deadline for applications is on Jan. 13.
