Padre Ballers took the final seat in the semifinals of the 2019 One Pacific Promotional Basketball League after coasting past RNV Construction, 95-64, in their playoff match last Friday at the Civic Center Court.

Pardz will now play No. 1 seed Tsingtao Boyz in the battle for the first finals berth tonight, while Mawati and Connie’s BBQ will meet in the other semifinal game.

The duel for the fourth and last semis ticket was easily won by Pardz, as it led right from the get-go and padded its lead as the match progressed.

Ahead by 8 after the first period, 18-10, Pardz brought its advantage to twin digits at the break 42-24, with J.R. Barrios and Ronald Romo scoring 7 points each in the second period.

When the game resumed, Pardz kept pouring on points, as it recorded 35 markers—the squad’s biggest output in a quarter—to pad its lead, 77-42. This time, it was Joseph Torres and Bryan Santos who teamed up in the third-quarter assault after making 9 points each. Lucky Jose chipped in 6, while three Pardz players contributed two baskets apiece.

Facing a big deficit with just a quarter to go, RNV Construction tried to rally in fourth period, but its 22 markers were not enough to save the team’s season.

Jose led the way for Pards with his 17 points, while Torres and Barrios also finished in twin digits, contributing 14 each. Santos and Romo combined for 22 more markers for Pardz, which got 19 from Rocyl Ritual, Hipolito Estorosas, and Ronald Bernardo.

While Pardz ran a balance offense, it was a different story for RNV, as only Ronald Rueda and Len Biscocho hit double figures for the losing team after logging 20 and 15 points, respectively.

Pardz Ballers 95—Jose 17, Torres 14, Barrios 14, Santos 13, Romo 9, Ritual 7, Estorosas 6, Bernardo 5, Umali 4, Calbone 4, Galulu 2.
RNV Construction 64—Rueda 20, Biscocho 15, Odicta 7, Mortos 6, Tagle 5, Corpus 4, Jumaquio 3, Baul 2, Taraya 2.
Scoring by quarters: 18-10, 42-24, 77-42, 95-64.
