The Pardz Ballerz demolished Max’s Restaurant, 105-66, while Connie’s BBQ edged out Docomo Pacific 73-66, in the 2019 One Pacific Promotional Basketball League games over the weekend at the Civic Center Court in Susupe.
Pardz cruised to the win after making over 20 points in all four quarters, while Connie’s BBQ secured the victory after a strong start.
A 29-17 scoring run in the first period gave Pardz the early double-digit lead and they remained consistent on offense in the last three quarters to reach past the century mark and hammer the hapless Max’s Restaurant.
Bryan Santos drilled three triples and finished with 11 points for Pardz just in the first quarter alone to give their team the control of the one-sided match. Joseph Torres then picked up where Santos left off to hand Pardz its third straight victory. Torres led Pardz with his 29 points, while Santos added 17.
Patrick Salalila had 15 markers for Max’s Restaurant, which never scored more than 18 points in each of the four quarters to lose by a big margin.
Meanwhile, Connie’s BBQ buckled down to work right in the first quarter to build a baker’s dozen lead, 24-11, and held on in the fourth to notch win No. 6.
Seven different players delivered for Connie’s BBQ in the first period, while only three scored for Docomo.
Docomo then managed to rally in the fourth frame after earning 23 points—its best output in a quarter—but back-to-back triples from Joel Danao and Nelson Cabang and two straight baskets from Austin Camacho foiled the comeback bid.
Camacho finished the match with 10 points, while Ronald Esmores led Connie’s BBQ with his 11 markers. Mel Manibusan had 21 for Docomo, which played without its main scorer, Shane Deleon Guerrero.
