Parade, fashion show at Int’l Festival of Cultures
The Parade of Cultures and a cultural fashion show will highlight this weekend’s 4th Annual International Festival of Cultures at Paseo de Marianas on Saipan.
This year’s festival will take place during three successive days, Sept. 21-23—a break from past Festival of Cultures that usually took place every Saturday in September.
The Parade of Cultures on Saturday, Sept. 22, at 5pm will featuring participants in ethnic attire walking from the Carolinian Affairs Office to Paseo de Marianas, where participants will walk the catwalk at 6pm.
The International Festival of Cultures will be held from 5pm to 10pm each night beginning on Friday, Sept. 21, and will feature live entertainment, ethnic food, arts and crafts demonstrations, and more.
“We’re looking forward to a great weekend of celebrating the cultural diversity of the Marianas at this weekend’s festival,” said Marianas Visitors Authority Community Projects manager Martin Duenas. “We invite everyone to come and enjoy the dances, demonstrations, and, of course, the delicious food, including roast pig tasting on Sunday.”
Confirmed to participate in the festival this year are the Marianas, Federated States of Micronesia, Palau, Marshall Is.lands, Hawaii, Tonga/Fiji/Samoa, Bangladesh, the Philippines, South Korea, Japan, and Africa
