My para-dice island?

If a casino industry is the answer, then how come investors don’t partner and invest in the Tinian Dynasty? Expand it to an integrated resort. The Tinian Dynasty has been around for years. Did it help the people there? The retirees? Give 100 percent local employment? What more if a casino is built here on Saipan? No tourist will take another trip to go south. Have you ever wondered how can a casino license be granted if the Casino Commission appointees have yet to be confirmed?

Our government officials have already hinted that Best Sunshine will be awarded the exclusive license. Has it ever occurred to you that just maybe, if all falls apart, these two casino investors may pack up their bags and sue us in the end? Another Betty Johnson episode, don’t you think? Shoot, I think that is where the escrow money will end up going to. Right now, I really don’t care if one is built on island because I have a conscience that tells me it is pure evil. They may throw money in your face but the question is, for how long?

Did anyone get any richer when the garment industry was at its peak? Yes, but it wasn’t me. I think it’s time for the peanut butter and shoe factory to come in. What we need is a megamall in the heart of Saipan so that tourists and locals alike of all ages could enjoy. Because with that, I don’t mind leaving the place broke as my children were all smiles. Can you get the same feeling leaving a casino?
