Palau college board holds organizational meeting

The Palau Community College board of trustees held its annual organizational meeting last Jan. 9, 2023, during which the trustees unanimously voted to re-elect Rev. Billy G. Kuartei as board chairman.

At the same meeting, the board also unanimously elected Romana Wong as vice chairperson and Kione Isechal as secretary and treasurer.

The PCC board also includes as members Alvina Timarong, Dr. Emais Roberts, and student trustee O’Keef Kokichi.

In addition, the PCC board organized its standing committee.

Academic Programs Committee, chairman, Timarong;

Finance/Personnel Committee, chairman, Wong;

Facilities, chairman, Isechal;

Student Affairs Committee, chairperson, Kokichi.

All committees include key college officials as ad-hoc members.

Dr. Emais Roberts represents the board on the three-member College of Micronesia Land Grant Board of Regents.

The Republic of Palau Public Law 4-2, cited as the Higher Education Act of 1993, mandates that members of the PCC board of trustees meet each year in order to elect its officers and establish its calendar of regular meetings. The annual organizational meeting of the PCC board of trustees is held on the second Monday of January of each year. (PR)
