Paire, Shirley’s rule Dove fall league

Pair Football Club and Shirley’s FC topped their respective divisions in the 2016 Dove Women’s Fall League as competition concluded last Sunday at the Chacha Ocean View Middle School Field.

Shirley’s edged MP United, 2-1, to win the Division B championship. Katherine Magat and Michaela Carreon scored one goal apiece for Shirley’s, which completed the double round-robin contest with a 7-2-1 win-draw-loss record.

MP United finished at second place with its 6-1-3 mark after falling short against Shirley’s as only Julia Ishikawa hit the board for the eventual runner-up squad.

MP United was also second behind Shirley’s in the most goals scored as the latter collected 43 in 10 games, while yielding only 12. MP United earned 21 and gave up 13.

Babs (4-2-4), Paire FC (3-4-3), Kanoa (3-1-6), and Kagman High School (1-2-7) rounded out the Division B field.

Babs finished the season on a winning note after blanking Kagman, while Paire also took an easy win in their last game following a 7-1 rout of Kanoa.

Doris Ayuyu and Jenisha Dubrall posted two goals apiece for Paire, while Bianca Cabrera, Patricia Surima, and Keisha Deleon Guerrero contributed one each. With Paire registering seven goals in its last game, it brought its total to 17, the third best in the division. Paire also had the third least goals allowed at 15.

Kanoa, which drew its lone goal from Marie Aldan tallied 13 in 10 games and gave up 30. Babs scored 14 goals and yield 19, while Kagman had only nine goals and allowed 28.

In Division A, Paire topped the goals scored category with its 49 and also earned the best record in the field with its near-perfect mark of 7-0-1. Paire finished way ahead of Shirley’s (3-2-3), Kanoa (2-3-4), and TanHoldings (1-3-5).

Meanwhile, the masters division also played their final games last Sunday with Topnotch beating Kanoa, 6-2, and Matansa outclassing MP United, 4-1.
