Paire-2 rallies past Southern United
Paire Football Club-2 pulled off a 4-3 win over Southern United FC in the Intermediate Division of the Dove Women’s Fall League 2021.
Paire notched its second victory in three games after rallying past Southern United in the Oct. 24 game at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville. Shawna Brennfleck made twin goals for Paire, including the game-winner to hand the team the come-from-behind win.
Robyn Spaeth and Tanuja Edvalson registered the two other goals for Paire with the former finding her target early in the fourth minute of the close game and the latter in the 13th. Southern United hit the board late in the first half, but had a string of three goals to take the 3-1 halftime lead. Angellyn Roligat delivered the first goal for Southern United in the 17th minute, while Keisha Deleon Guerrero followed it up with back-to-back goals in the 21st and 24th.
However, that was it for Southern United, while Paire battled back behind Brennfleck, who scored two straight goals in a span of 10 minutes with her first recorded in the 32nd minute and the second in the 42nd.
Paire-1 3, MP United 1
Paire-1 was also victorious in the last game in the league before matches were suspended over the weekend due to the recent COVID-19 cases in the community.
The win over MP United gave Paire-1 a perfect 3-0-0 win-draw-loss record for the lead in the division.
Lily Muldoon knocked in a pair of goals for Paire-1, while Natalie Hill-Beyer chipped in one. Muldoon posted her twin goals in the second half (12th and 19th minute), while Hill-Beyer closed out for Paire-1 in the 48th. More Sablan gave MP United its lone goal in the game in the 32nd minute.
Shirley’s 5, Matansa 2
Shirley’s bagged its first victory of the season after beating Matansa.
Friendy Joy Pena had two goals for Shirley’s, which settled for draws in its first two matches before breaking into the win column in the Oct. 24 play date. Analey Demapan and Kaithryn Sablan scored the two other goals for Shirley’s, which got its fifth off an own goal. Ratree Ditwiset Frederick and Bunruang Brasuell tallied one goal apiece for the winless Matansa.
Kanoa 1, Paire-3 0
Kanoa foiled Paire teams’ bid for a sweep after taking a close win over Paire-3.
Ayessa Tereyama delivered the winning goal for Kanoa, which joined Paire-2 in second place in the team standings after improving its record to 2-0-1. Tereyema made it to the board in the last minute of the first half and Kanoa kept the shaky lead, as Paire remained cold in the second.
