Pacifica Insurance Underwriters, Inc. has launched its Hashtag Choose My Picture Campaign, aimed at promoting its social media presence on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

“People are catching on to social media and smartphones are becoming the mobile unit of choice,” said executive vice president Shirley Sablan. “There is no better way to continue our reach.”

The campaign promises weekly drawings for a free pizza in the form of a gift certificate to Joeten Superstore to commence on April 6.

Photos and videos that are “hash tagged”—#pacificainsurance; #choosemypicture; #restassured—will become eligible for the company’s weekly drawings.

In addition to eligibility for its weekly drawing, all photos with all three hashtags may be used on Pacifica’s print advertisements, which may land on newspapers, magazines, brochures, or flyers.

Videos tagged may also be considered for TV advertisements.

Winners are chosen based on creativity of photos or videos and content of their respective captions.

Weekly winning photos or videos will be flagged with a #wechoseyourpicture hashtag, upon which winners are expected to contact Pacifica’s office directly for instructions on prize presentation.

Winners of the weekly drawings must be a bona fide resident of the CNMI. However, photos and videos chosen for advertisements do not require such residency.

Pacifica encourages participants to be spontaneous in all photos and videos. There are no limitations on creative inputs, provided they do not contain violence, nudity, profanity, or images that may be offensive and discriminatory in any nature.

“We want our participants to blow us away with their creativity,” said Sablan.

Since its official introduction on the company’s Facebook page on March 20, a number of photos have already been hashtagged. Some of these include a beach photo of the Stand Up Paddle Saipan family, super hero children of domestic violence activist Malyssa Castro, a sunset selfie of PSS counselor Christopher Cabrera, and a few candid photos of Boka Boka owner Marianne Teregeyo and her family.

There are no limits to the amount of photos and videos per social media account.
