OVR seeks comments on state plan
The Office of Vocational Rehabilitation, in partnership with the State Rehabilitation Council, will be conducting statewide public forums to solicit comments on the fiscal years 2016-2020 Vocational Rehabilitation Portion of the Unified State Plan.
The public is invited and encouraged to participate in the scheduled public forums. The forum will provide opportunities for public comments on how well services are met and what needs to be strengthened in our State Plan. Let us know how the OVR and SRC can best serve people with disabilities residing in the CNMI by identifying barriers that currently prevent our people with disabilities from getting or keeping jobs and, more importantly, recommend solutions to those barriers. Overall, we appreciate the public’s feedback on how the OVR and SRC can work together with our local communities to help people with disabilities to prepare for or maintain competitive integrated employment.
On Tinian, the public forum will be held today, Dec. 16, from 12pm to 1pm, at the Northern Marianas College campus (VTC room).
On Rota and Saipan, the forum will be held on Dec. 22, from 5pm to 6pm, at the NMC campus (VTC room).
The State Plan can also be viewed in its entirety at www.ovrgov.net.
If you require reasonable accommodation (e.g., large print, audio, Braille, etc.) to participate in the public forums, contact Elvira Seman at least two days before the scheduled forums at 322-6537/8; TTY: 322-6449; fax: 322-6548; or email nmidir@ovrgov.net. Alternate formats of the State Plan will be provided upon request. (OVR)
