Over 40 to compete in Art of War 14

This Saturday’s Art of War 14 Grappling Submission Challenge will feature more than 40 participants competing in various weight classes.
A total of 46 individuals have registered for this weekend’s event and they will vie for the grand cash prize as well as gold, silver, and bronze medals.
In the No Gi flyweight class (100 lbs-134 lbs), Drey Rador will be up against Keith Queef, Edward Diaz, Matts Guyos, and Gio Taitingfong. Taitingfong is also entered in the bantamweight division (135 lbs-144 lbs) and will challenge Franklin Santos and Ray Santos.
For the featherweight class (145 lbs-160 lbs), the competitors are Shane Alvarez, Mark Nuique, Alverick Alvarez, and Kenji Okiyama. The Alvarez siblings will also vie for the gold and the bragging rights in the lightweight category (161 lbs-175 lbs) against Sangalang and Mark Nuique.
In the middleweight class (176 lbs-204 lbs), the registered participants are Jose Ramirez, Frankie Muña, Beng Masga, and Kier Agda.
For the heavyweight class (205 lbs and up), Kelvin Fitial, Kier Agda, Jose Ramirez, and Jose Mafnas have confirmed their participation.

Meanwhile, in the Gi absolute white belt women’s category, Mari Alvarez, Chelsea Ayuyu, Loretto Itibus, Allana Jackson, Momiko Santos, Ava Deleon Guerrero, Taylor San Nicolas, Yoo Young Chung, Skye Han, and Lousie Villagomez will battle it out for the gold.
In the absolute white belt men’s division, the participants’ list includes Pali Rovnan, Dan Ryan Tumaquip, Jose Quan, Prince Jackson, Sammy Alvarez, Naven Santos, Eujin Chung, Frankie Muña, Jin Han, and Ray Santos.
Registered participants in the absolute blue belt category are Sangalang, Franklin Santos, Nuique, Taitingfong, Ramirez, and Agda, while the absolute purple belt division will have Shane and Alverick Alvarez, Jose Mafnas, Vince Masga, and Ken Tanzawa.
In the black belt, it will be a Guam vs Guam showdown with Spike 22’s Okiyama facing Purebred BJJ’s Oliver Cruz.
There will be a kids category competition (10 to 14 age group) this weekend and the special event will feature Edward Diaz, BengBeng Palacios, Terence San Nicolas, Phil Simon Gregorio, Keone Santos, Isaac Han, and Dre Rador.
