Outlaw betel nut spitting

Share

Dear lawmakers: I’m seeking your assistance to introduce a law to regulate betel nut chewers’ unsanitary habit of spitting in public places. This practice is hazardous to our health and an unpleasant view for our guests and customers visiting restaurants, stores, beaches, airport, schools, hospital, and other public places that we go to for service or public function. This unsanitary habit of spitting anywhere they please is very dirty and an eyesore for all of us. Just the thought of it makes me feel sick to the stomach. And I believe in educating our children to prevent future contamination of our island by enforcing such laws to spit in appropriate places that will not affect our environment.

I also want to ask you to clarify the laws and enforce the no smoking in public places. Please specify a casino and game room. There are a lot of us in our community who have illnesses that are affected by these smokers. Research has proven that tobacco smoke kills people who have such illnesses. It also affects hypertension patients. I believe the U.S. Constitution mandates the government to protect our general health and welfare.
