Jeff Romeo, Area Director of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s On-Site Consultation Program, visited the CNMI on Oct. 20-21, 2014.

It being his first trip to the CNMI, Romeo focused his visit on informing the community about the free OSHA On-Site Consultation Program by speaking before the Society of Human Resources Management, arranged meet-and-greet visits to key sector principals dealing with contractors such as the Department of Public Works, Commonwealth Utilities Corp., Northern Marianas Housing Corp., Hotel Association of the NMI president Nick Nishikawa, Rotary Club of Saipan president Laila Boyer, CNMI Military Liaison in relation to the military buildup activities, CNMI leaders such as Lt. Gov. Jude U. Hofschneider, Senate President Ralph Torres, and House of Representative members Richard Benavente and Edmund Villagomez.

The OSHA On-Site Consultation Program is a cooperative agreement under the provisions of Section 21 (d) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act established since June 29, 2003, between the U.S. Department of Labor OSHA Administration and the CNMI Labor Department. (PR)
