OSHA On-Site Consultation ready to help

For the first time since the inception of the program in 2003, the CNMI OSHA On-Site Consultation Office is fully staffed with one project manager, two safety consultants, one industrial hygienist and an administrative officer to assist small to mid-size businesses in the private sector to be OSHA-compliant throughout all of the CNMI and to ensure the safety of employees in the workplace.
“Three quarters into the year, the CNMI OSHA program has…assisted with 20 high-hazard consultations in the construction industry and 44 in general industry,” said project manager Timothy Asaivao. “Our goal is to conduct at least 100 consultations before the end of the fiscal year.”
The CNMI OSHA office also participates in nationally recognized programs such as the National Safety Stand Down Campaign. The week of Aug. 12-16 is Safe and Sound Week and will mark the third national Safety Stand Down Campaign for the year.
