OPM chief Seman OK’d as custodian for son
Brett Somorang Seman, a 26-year-old man who allegedly hit the rear of a car that had given a ride to his girlfriend, was released on Friday after posting bail.
Superior Court Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho allowed Seman to post $2,500 cash bail—just 10 percent of the $25,000 cash bail—and $22,500 in unsecured bond.
Seman’s father, Office of Personnel Management director Isidro K. Seman, was deemed a suitable third party custodian.
Arraignment will be on Sept. 21 at 9am.
Brett Seman was arrested for assault with a dangerous weapon and disturbing the peace. Assistant public defender Tillman Clark served as his counsel.
Assistant attorney general Chester Hinds appeared for the government at the bail hearing.
Police report that police Sgt. Edward Ayuyu was heading east toward Dandan along Flame Tree Road last Sept. 3 at 3:59am when he saw two vehicles on the opposite lane.
Ayuyu observed a gray car had damage on the rear bumper, which was dragging on the road.
A white Mazda pickup truck, being driven by Seman, had no headlights and was too close to the car.
Ayuyu pursued the two vehicles. The car stopped and was overtaken by the truck.
When the truck stopped along Adobo Drive in Koblerville, Seman, who was the driver, yelled at Ayuyu to check the car because, according to him, it hit his truck.
The car, a Nissan Maxima, had damage on the rear and bumper. The truck, a Mazda, had minor damage on the front, police said.
Police learned that Seman had chased and hit the rear of the car where his girlfriend took a ride. Apparently she asked the owner of the car to drop her off at her house because Seman was too drunk.
