Open enrollment at Whispering Palms School
Parents looking for an excellent school on Saipan will be happy to discover Whispering Palms School. WPS has been in operation for 27 years and is centrally located on Navy Hill.
The experienced U.S.-certified teaching staff is focused on preparing their students for high school and beyond. Students from Whispering Palms School have transitioned very well into high school and have demonstrated the study skills and dedication required to be on a path to college. Graduates of Whispering Palms have attended college at Harvard, Stanford, Brown, University of California, University of Hawaii, and more.
WPS has a student population of up to 74 students, first grade through eighth grade. The students have classes and course work in reading, writing, history, mathematics, and science. WPS also engages its students in extracurricular activities, including participation in mock trial, Math Court, forensics league, the Scripps National Spelling Bee, and the STEM Fair. Whispering Palms has some unique events such as Authors’ and Artists’ Night and its one-of-a-kind outdoor practicum, held annually on Managaha Island. This program allows the students to get out of the classroom and participate in a hands-on learning environment. The program is structured with educational classes taught by local scientists, cultural arts, and dancing taught by local artists, water sports, and overnight camping.
Whispering Palms offers a great academic program and encourages its students to participate in MISO and private school sports. WPS school teams have won numerous titles and are always competitive in the leagues they join. The physical education, swimming and track activities are led by 2011 Coach of the Year Jeff Race. WPS also employs an art teacher and a hands-on science teacher.
WPS has reasonable tuition and offers discounted pricing for families with multiple children. If interested, contact principal Rob Epley at www.whisperingpalmsofsaipan@gmail.com or call 323-7451. (WPS)
