One team confirmed in business caging
Docomo Pacific became the first team to confirm its participation in the 2015 Inter-Commercial Business Basketball League, while the other eight squads invited have yet to inform the organizers of their respective status.
Marpac-Budweiser, Pacific Islands Club-Saipan, Saipan Stevedore, Joeten Enterprises, Saipan Ice & Water Company, IT&E, Pacific Trading Co., and Mobil are the other squads invited to join the league.
A meeting will be held today at 6pm at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium with the final opening date one of the topics to be discussed. The league is tentatively set to open on Tuesday, Jan. 27, also at the Ada gym.
Teams that will join the league are advised to bring a copy of atheir respective 15-player rosters and the $530 entrance fee, which is payable to the Basketball Association of the Northern Mariana Islands.
Only employees of the said businesses are allowed to participate and 12 players can suit up for each team every game.
The Human Resource managers of each business establishment need to certify that players listed on their respective rosters are employees of the company they are representing.
Tournament format will follow single round-robin elimination and a double-round elims in the playoffs. Two games, at 6:30pm and 8pm, will be played every Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Ada gym.
All teams are required to have their respective complete set of uniforms.
