One more brand new car, $20K at stake at TOC

(Saipan Tribune)  Next month’s17th Annual Tournament of Champions has added one more brand new car and $20,000 as hole-in-one prizes.

Joeten Motors will be giving away a brand new 2012 Ford Fiesta, bringing the total of brand new cars that can be won in the TOC to three. Microl Toyota is offering a 2013 Toyota Venza, while Triple J Motors is handing a 2013 Hyundai Elantra.

For the cash prizes, Bank of Hawaii has thrown in $20,000 to go with AON Insurance’s $50,000 on each day both on the west and east courses of the Laolao Bay Golf Resort.

This year’s TOC will be held on Aug. 4 and 5 with over $300,000 at stake in the two-day tournament.

Entry fee is only $175.00 and it includes two days of golf and entry to the awards banquet which will be held on Aug. 5 at Laolao Bay’s The Grill Restaurant immediately following the tournament.

First place winners in the Men’s Championship, A, B, C, Senior and Super Senior Flights will each receive $500 cash, $400 for second, $300 for third, a digital camera to fourth, and $100 DFS gift certificate for fifth place.

The Ladies Low Gross champion will receive $500, $400 for second, and $300 for third place. The Ladies Low Net first through third places will receive trophies.

Like in its past 16 editions, proceeds from the TOC will be used for beautification projects in the CNMI.

Since its inception, TOC has given over $500,000 to the Saipan Beautification Fund which has gone directly to the improvements of the tree-lined traffic medians that stretch from Garapan to the former Palm Resort SAIPAN, as well as the revitalization of the Garapan special district. In addition, TOC also contributed funds for the Paseo de Marianas, the lighting of the Saipan Beach Pathway, and most recently the beatification of the Port to Park pathway.

This year’s TOC is supported by Platinum sponsors DFS Galleria, Marianas Visitors Authority, and LaoLao Bay Golf Resort. Gold sponsors include AON Insurance, Docomo Pacific, Microl, Y’s Enterprises, Nike Golf, and Triple J Motors.
