Omicron Tis Of Thee
Omicron tis of thee
causing us more misery
of thee we flee
from Alpha to Omega
from Kappa Phi to Beta
from Micronesia to META
you do your thing
around the world how many died
in quarantine fear we hide
from city to countryside
in self isolation we hide
of thee we flee
you instigate vaccine doubt
wondering about your contagious route
much about you we don’t know about
of thee we flee.
OMG It’s Omicron
(A new COVID 19 variant, 15th letter in the Greek alphabet)
Then there are those who point fingers
in ignorance, who started it, who to name
leaving many in doubt , suspicion lingers
as science deniers play the blame game
let’s help the government and medical folks
give thanks for the life saving work they do
the COVID wheel of variants gets more spokes
masks, social distancing make it safer for me and you
heading toward Xmas and New Year’s holidays
new COVID-19 virus variants keep coming on
we learn community spread protection ways
should remain in place till Covid 19 is gone
the Greek alphabet may be used from start to finish
then English letters until the virus may diminish.
