The Ol’Aces will be holding the Ol’Aces Alumni Basketball Tournament in celebration of their 45th anniversary.

The competition is tentatively set to open on Aug. 28 and will be held at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium. Matches will run from Monday to Thursday and will feature three divisions: co-ed 15 and under (latte stone division), open (classic division), and masters 4×4 (legends division). In the legends division, players must be over 40 or be considered a recreational player. Acceptance of players will be at the discretion of the league commissioner.

Non-Ol’Aces members will be charged $10 for entry fees, while members or alumni will only pay $5. Players must be registered before they are allowed to participate in the tournament. Registration must be completed by filling out application and waiver forms and settling player fees.

Since games are just recreational, all winners will only receive perpetual trophies, which teams will have to defend the following season. No individual awards will be given out to promote team camaradie.

The latte stone and classic divisions will both have 5×5 formats with each game to be played in 20 minutes (running time). Clock stoppage starts in the last two minutes. All teams will play three matches every playing night.

For the 4×4 halfcourt games in the legends division, each match will be 10 minutes with clock stoppage on every deadball and a 16-second shot clock.
