(Walter Sutherland) Top-ranked Docomo Pacific Ol’Aces triumphed over second place Juan Santiago’s Jets II, 12-7, as the Senior Division of the 2012 Saipan Little League continued last Saturday at the Francisco “Tan Ko” Palacios Ballfield.

The win stretched Ol’Aces’ streak to seven games, while Jets II absorbed just its second loss of the season.

Also on Saturday, IT&E Fielders (5-2) steamrolled the DPS Dare Program Enforcers (0-5), 20-5, while Jets II (6-2) bounced back last Tuesday with a 15-4 shellacking over the Marianas Cable Vision Rep. Ramon S. Basa-Frederick P. Deleon Guerrero Kagman Lions (2-5).

SENIOR DIVISION

Ol’Aces 12, Jets II 7

It was a one-run game in favor of Ol’Aces, 5-4, after four innings when Ol’Aces jumped on top 10-4, in the bottom of the fifth inning off just two hits.

Jun Rabauliman led off with a triple and the wheels came off the Jets II’s defense, which allowed three runs to score off errors and passed balls before Frankie Camacho smashed a two-RBI double.

Jets II tried to mount a comeback in the top of the sixth, but only mustered three runs in response. Ol’Aces got two of them back in the bottom frame and held strong out on the field for the win.

Fielders 20, Enforcers 5

After breaking the ice with four runs in the opening frame, the Fielders batted through their lineup twice in the second inning as they lit up the scoreboard with 14 runs off 12 hits.

Two leadoff walks set up an RBI single by Keene Guerrero and then a three-run homer by Jared Lizama. Moments later Davin Ada and Khobby Kaipat both bashed RBI triples and Gayvan Uchau bagged an RBI single in his second at bat.

Guerrero and Lizama kept rolling with an RBI single and a two-run home run, while Ada hit an RBI base knock on his second turn.

The Enforcers were never able to recover and the Fielders added two more runs in the fourth and another in the fifth before clocking out early.

Fielders’ Lizama batted 3-for-4 with five RBIs, two runs, and a base on balls.

Jets II 15, Lions 4

The Lions worked around all four of their runs in the first inning and it remained a close game, 5-4, in favor of Jets II after four frames.

However, for some reason the Lions defense crumbled in the fifth and allowed Jets II to get off the hook for six runs off just two hits.

The Lions were then stood up at third base for their third time in the bottom frame and Jets II worked around enough runs needed to put the run rule into effect in the top of the sixth frame. Visually jaded, the Lions went 1-2-3 to end the what was a really good game.

Jeffrey Lizama batted 4-for-5 with two RBIs and three runs.

BIG DIVISION

Fielders 4, Ol’Aces 3

Ol’Aces worked out a 2-1 lead off two hits and an error in the opening frame. Harry Nakamura doubled home leadoff man Diego Camacho and was knocked in by Keoni Lizama.

Fielder’s Marvin Ngeskebei lifted a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the second to lock it up at 2-all, and the count shifted to 3-all after the dust cleared in the third inning.

Ol’Aces’ Lizama bagged an RBI single in the top frame, and the Fielders obliged with another sacrifice fly, this time by R.J. Villagomez.

Ol’Aces left runners on the corners in the top of the fourth, but the Fielders also held up at third base in the bottom half.

Fielders pitcher Nathan Guerrero stepped up big in the late innings and clocked two 1-2-3 showings to close the fifth and sixth frames.

Jonah Villagomez led off the bottom of the sixth and got plunked, but managed to work his way around the diamond and scored the go ahead run off a passed ball.

Ol’Aces’ Felipe Litulumar belted a leadoff triple to start the final inning of regulation, but Guerrero bit down on the mound and left the tying run at the doorstep.

Guerrero gave up one earned run off seven hits with eight strikeouts through seven innings.

Fielders’ R.J. Villagomez bagged two RBIs and Carl Camacho batted 3-for-3 with a run.

Hustlers 17, Lions 6

Lions’ Leroy Regis and Danny Cruz broke the ice with an RBI single and a two-RBI triple in the first inning, but the Hustlers brushed it off and went ahead, 5-3, in the top of the second.

McGary Scaliem stole home, Kevin Villagomez singled in Kenta Castro and also took the dish, and Brian Camacho cranked an RBI triple and was brought to the plate by Manny Flores.

The Lions early roar turned into a whimper late in the game and only managed to answer the Hustlers’ consistent production with toothpicks in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings.

As for the Hustlers, they added a run in the third from Castro, two more in the fourth off a triple by Jeremy Lizama, and another pair from a MacGarette Duenas double in the fifth frame; he scored off an error and brought the count to 10-6, with an inning to go.

The Hustlers went on to slap seven more runs on top of their lead off five hits and silenced the Lions in the final stand.
