San Jose Ol’Aces notched their fifth straight victory, while the Rollers B has yet to enter the win column in four tries.
Karlo De Leon and Ignacio led the Ol’Aces’ easy win, scoring 13 and 12 points, respectively. De Leon found his target early, drilling 5 points in the first period to lift the Ol’Aces to a confortable 20-6 advantage.
The Ol’Aces were never threatened from thereon, as the Rollers B clearly struggled on offense in the first three periods with single-digit outputs. The Rollers B finally got its shooting touch in the fourth, firing 18 points, but these were not enough to even cut the deficit to a respectable number, as the Ol’Aces nearly doubled-up the former’s score, posting a 29-point winning margin.
Meanwhile, the Rollers and Ol’Aces registered contrasting wins in the U14 division games last Saturday.
In the first match, the Rollers waltzed to a 59-32 victory over Tinian, while in the second tiff, the Ol’Aces pulled off a 41-38 win against Division of Youth Services.
The Ol’Aces escaped with the 3-point win after hitting clutch free throws. Alvin Pua, Donovan Ada, and Kimo Angailen scored one charity each in the homestretch to help the Ol’Aces prevail in the close game.
Shakobe Rangamar also helped the Ol’Aces’ cause, posting 3 of the team’s last 6 points. Rangamar went on to top-score for the Ol’Aces with his 10 points.
In the Rollers-Tinian tiff, the former had the game in the bag right after the first half,35-12. Chris Arceo led Rollers 1’s early domination, nailing 10 of his 16 points in the opening 20 minutes of play.
