October happenings at American Memorial Park

American Memorial Park will hold the annual Wartime Halloween and once again invite the community to stop by for some Halloween fun. The activities will include:

Icons of World War II
Halloween does not just have to be about dressing up like famous characters we see in movies or read about in books. Sometimes forgotten are the regular people we see around us who are making a difference.  During the Icons of World War II program, we will take children back in time to learn about Rosie the Riveter, an iconic symbol for working women during World War II, the servicemen who risked their lives to fight in the war, and will highlight a local baker on Saipan, who opened his bakery during hard times in 1944. The program involves guided tours, read-alouds, and activities centered around these themes.

All children in grades K-5 are invited to participate in the program. Middle school (6th-8th) and high school (9th-12th) students are welcome to join us as group leaders and volunteers.  Registration is required and slots are limited. A parent must complete and submit the registration form to secure a spot. Registration forms can be picked up at the Visitor Center.
