Gov. Ralph DLG Torres swore in a new member to the Commonwealth Zoning Board.

Former lawmaker Mariano Taitano was sworn in during a ceremony yesterday in the Office of the Governor’s conference room.

Torres said he looks forward to working with Taitano and the rest of the board members in addressing important zoning issues.

Torres also has re-nominated a couple members of the Zoning board to their posts.

In March 22 letters to the Saipan and Northern Islands Legislative Delegation, Torres announced his re-appointment of board members Joe Erra Ayuyu Jr. and Diego Blanco.

In his letters, Torres said he is confident that Ayuyu and Blanco are qualified for the post and would continue to devote their time and efforts on this important board.

The re-appointments required SNILD confirmation.

If confirmed, Ayuyu and Blanco will serve another two-year term.
