O hospitalization and 93 new cases
COVID UPDATE
As of Monday, April 4, the CNMI had zero hospitalizations due to COVID-19.
The latest report from the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. showed that the last person hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 was March 30, 2022, and that patient has already been presumably discharged.
Meanwhile, 93 additional individuals have been confirmed positive for COVID-19, bringing the CNMI total to 11,158 cases since March 28, 2020.
Of the 93 cases, 26 were identified on March 28, 2022 (with one on Tinian and two on Rota); 33 were identified on March 29, 2022 (eight on Rota); seven on March 30, 2022 (one on Tinian, three on Rota); 16 prior to March 31, 2022; three on April 1, 2022; two on April 3, 2022, both on Tinian; and six prior to March 28, 2022.
In Guam, the Joint Information Center reported two COVID-19-related fatalities yesterday and one last April 4, 2022.
The 352nd COVID-19-related fatality was pronounced dead on arrival at the Guam Memorial Hospital on April 3, 2022. The patient was an 83-year-old male, fully vaccinated without a booster, with underlying health conditions, who tested positive on April 3.
The 351st COVID-19-related fatality occurred at the Guam Regional Medical City on March 31, 2022. The patient was a 66-year-old female, unvaccinated, with underlying health conditions, who tested positive on March 16.
“To those who loved them, [Lt. Gov.] Josh [Tenorio], [first gentleman] Jeff [Cook], and I send our heartfelt sympathies,” said Guam Gov. Lou Leon Guerrero. “As we work toward a route to normalcy, we are once again reminded that our grief continues as well as our fight against this pandemic.”
On Monday, Guam’s 350th COVID-19-related fatality occurred at the GMH on April 1, 2022. The patient was a 57-year-old male, fully vaccinated without a booster, with underlying health conditions, who tested positive on April 1.
“Too many have experienced the pain from losing a family member to this deadly virus,” said Leon Guerrero. “To his family and those who loved him, Jeff, Josh, and I pray they find healing and comfort during this difficult time.”
To date, there have been a total of 47,429 officially reported cases in Guam, 352 deaths, 282 cases in active isolation, and 46,795 not in active isolation.
In the CNMI, there have been 11,158 cases since March 28, 2020. Of that number, there have been 11,093 recoveries, 32 active cases, and 33 COVID-19-related deaths.
