Nothing wrong with Article 12
There is nothing wrong with Article 12. The only problem with it is the definition of Northern Marianas decent and the lease terms. But other than that, leave it alone.
And if the government will allow non-NMDs to vote on this issue, then I feel that our constitutional rights will be invaded and it is unfair for the people of the CNMI. Tell me, is there any place or foreign country that will allow you to do the same? Invade their rights to make decision on matters that protect their assets?
Does the U.S. government allow our congressional delegate to vote? If you say I’m wrong, prove it.
Article 12 is there to protect our traditional rights to our land. Do not let others invade our right to protect our assets for our children. It is the only thing left from our ancestors. Let us decide what to do with it ourselves.
I also know in American history that American Indians fought to protect their land. Look at what happened to the Indians.
So, if you agree, help me and support my opinion, and help direct our local leaders to take action on this. Article 12 didn’t affect the investors before when the economy was booming. Why should it affect them now?
