Not guilty plea in meth indictment

A woman who, together with two others, was indicted for allegedly conspiring to possess over 50 grams of methamphetamine with the intent to sell it pleaded not guilty in federal court last week.

U.S. District Court for the NMI Chief Judge Ramona V. Manglona set Elaine Francisco Demei’s jury trial for Oct. 15, 2019 at 10am. Manglona allowed Demei remain free until then.

Assistant U.S. attorney Garth Backe, counsel for the U.S. government, did not object.

Mark B. Hanson is the court-appointed counsel for Demei.

Demei’s co-defendants, Vince Koki Leon Guerrero and Evelyn Chon Tydingco, have already pleaded not guilty and are also out.
