Nonsensical subterfurge
There have been two commentaries published in your newspaper about the Catholic bishops’ synod on family. It seems to me that the writers want to lay a foundation for the recognition of same-sex marriage as an acceptable marriage in the Catholic Church.
The idea that divorced Catholics and gays should be welcomed to the Catholic Church is a subterfuge, which is a seed of chaos that will cause the great schism predicted by the Blessed Mother in her message to Sister Sasagawa in Akita, Japan.
This nonsense of welcoming divorced persons and gays to the Catholic Church is totally unnecessary. For almost 2,000 years the Church has had an unbroken and unwavering doctrine that sinners cannot receive the body and blood of the Lord Jesus Christ if they have an unforgiven mortal sin. It has never made a difference whether the person is heterosexual or homosexual or married or single. Mortal sin separates a person from God and makes him or her unworthy to receive His body and blood in the Holy Communion.
As far the church buildings are concerned, no one, whether sinner or saint, has ever been prohibited from entering therein and attending Mass. So what is this nonsensical welcoming of divorced persons and gays all about? Every sinner is always welcome to the church, and the light of the sacrament of penance (also known as sacrament of reconciliation) shines in the heart of every sinner and beckons him or her to be reconciled with God if he/she is repentant, promises to sin no more, and seeks God’s forgiveness through the priest in the confessional. That is the welcoming light for all sinners, including gays engaged in homosexual sex and divorced persons who continue to have sex with their second spouses.
