The Micronesia Islands Nature Alliance is seeking nominations for its “Green Awards,” which will be presented at the organization’s annual Green Gala on Sept. 19, 2014. The Green Awards recognize individuals, companies, and schools that promote environmental stewardship and are committed to the preservation of the Commonwealth’s precious natural resources.

The Green Awards include:

– The Environmental Champion Award, given to an individual who has demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to the environment and preservation of our natural resources.

– The Environmental Heroes Award, given to a school, public or private, whose dedication to the environment is echoed through its students and all the work that they do in protecting our natural resources.

– The Green Business of the Year, given to a business that is committed to conservation and has incorporated the green business culture through its entire organization.

To submit nominations, send the following information to brookenevitt.mina@gmail.com: 1) your name and contact information; 2) your nominee and the category you are nominating in; and 3) At least one-page narrative explaining why your nominee should receive a Green Award. The deadline for submitting nomination is Aug. 8, 2014.
