Nominations open for the 2016 Businesswoman of the Year
MAITE, Guam—First Hawaiian Bank and Guam Business Magazine are seeking nominations for the 11th Annual Businesswoman of the Year Maga’håga award. Nominees must be residents of Guam or the Northern Mariana Islands.
Nominees should meet the following criteria: a businesswoman who has made a significant difference in her industry through her organization or her business, a woman who has contributed to her community, a woman who is a leading representative of her profession or field, and a woman who displays the best qualities of one in business.
Nominations must be submitted by Feb. 5. The winner will be announced at the Businesswoman of the Year Gala on April 30.
The Gala is also a fundraiser for the Businesswoman of the Year scholarship program. The scholarships, open to both full-time and part-time college students, are intended to promote higher education by providing financial assistance to college students pursuing professional careers in business or a related field who are enrolled at the University of Guam, Guam Community College or Northern Marianas College.

Rhodes, president of the Guam Hotel & Restaurant Association and President of MARQ Consulting Services (2012); Joyce Quinata Crisostomo, executive director of Cars Plus and President of Payless Car Rental (2011); Anna Wang Kao, founder and president of Genghis Khan Furniture Co. (2010); Lorraine S. Okada, president and owner of Managing Consulting Services (2009); Julienne Rose Perez Duenas, physical therapist, owner and clinical director of Sports, Orthopedic and Active Rehabilitation Inc. (2008); Christine Won Pat Baleto, general manager of Market Wholesale Distributors (2007); and Katherine C. Sgro, executive vice president and chairwoman of the board for Pay-Less Markets Inc.
