Thanks for your Saipan Tribune letter of June 24. Two casinos are better. Let the competition begin. I will bet BS drops out if the commission grants both licenses, though they can only survive if they have an exclusive. The good news is that the voters have a chance this fall to really do something about the cycle of corruption and ineptness that has pervaded politics and dumbed down our government for the past 36 years. Look past your niño, uncle or whatever and use the Internet to study what each candidate has done in their life, both professionally and personally. I see signs with a picture and a “please vote for me” on the roadside. I ask why? What have you done in your life? What are you going to do differently from all those before you? Tell me specifically where you stand on NMD’s, Article 12, casinos, nepotism vs qualified, CW’s, alternative energy, the environment—specifics, not platitudes. Put it in writing and, for God’s sake, get on FB, YouTube and LinkedIn at least. It’s 2014 everyone. You will have to be forgiven for not being technologically savvy if you are a graduate of the PSS system. I apologize for them.
