The Northern Marianas Technical Institute has partnered up with the Northern Marianas College and the Criminal Justice Planning Agency to create, paint, and set up Christmas decorations. The theme of the decorations was “A Toy Story Christmas” inspired by Pixar’s Toy Story movies.

NMTI chief executive officer Jodina Attao told Saipan Tribune yesterday that making and painting the decorations was a two-week endeavor and that working together on the project helped all involved get into the holiday spirit and learn some basic carpentry skills.

Attao thanked all who came out to help and main artist Aaron Tomokane and NMTI’s student services and curriculum coordinator Meena Benavente for painting and shading the characters.

“I’d like to thank the 4-H Club youth volunteers who came over to paint, the staff of CJPA, [Northern Marianas College-Cooperative Research Extension and Education Service] and the NMTI staff for helping to [put] all of these things together. We had two weeks to complete this project and, despite the shutdowns of government offices and schools, we still managed to complete it,” said Attao.

The decorations can be found in front of the CJPA office on Capital Hill.
