NMISF holds first sanctioned meet Saturday

The first Northern Mariana Islands Swimming Federation-sanctioned meet will be held this Saturday at the Kan Pacific Swimming Pool.
Tsunami Saipan will be the host of the tournament and times will be considered for both CNMI national and age group records. Registration fee is $5 per individual event and $7 per relay.
There will be 10 individual events and two relays. Swimmers from the host group and Saipan Swim Club will compete in the 1,500m, 200, 100m and 50m freestyle, 50m butterfly, 50m and 100m backstroke, 50m and 100 breaststroke, and 200m individual medley, and in the 4x100m freestyle relay, and 4x50m medley relay.
Warm-up swims are allowed from 8am to 9am, while races will take place from 9am to 12nn. Meet officials and volunteer timers are requested to be at the Marpi pool for the briefing 30 minutes before the kick-off time.
“All officials are requested to wear white with no swim team logos. Officials should also report on deck 30 minutes before start of the meet for the briefing,” NMISF said in an email circulated to both clubs.
NMISF regulations and FINA technical and U.S Swimming Age Group Meet rules will be implemented in the meet.
This weekend’s tournament has Carol Lynn Calobong-Pierce and Val Welch as referees, while Yuki Rechucher will be the announcer. Clerk of course are Hiroko Tenorio and Yoriko Sugie , while other officials include starter Bobby Winkfield and John Hirsh, judges of stroke/inspector of turns Yulia Aleksenko and Sanjay Dangol from Tsunami Saipan and SSC’s Tami Winkfield and Nami Kadokura, marshalls Noriko Watanabe and Mabel Mago, and head timer Alfreda Camacho.
