NMIS students take home 5 medals in STEM Fair

Northern Marianas International School students bagged four gold and a bronze medal in the 2014 STEM Fair held at Marianas High School last March 15.

First grader Simon Daniel Tang’s experiment battery life under technology and engineering, 2nd grader Redge Palma’s project about metals as good conductors of electricity, 4th grader Radge Palma’s rubber band powered car, and Kristine Fajardo’s mathematics and beauty all received gold medals. Sixth grader Kristina Crisostomo, meanwhile, got a bronze for her fire triangle project.

NMIS 2014 STEM Fair coaches Roy Dolon and Rosalie Habijan were happy how their students fared in the competition, as five of the school’s seven entries went home with medals. The NMIS coordinators for the 2014 STEM Fair are Jener Pineda and Rosalie Habijan.

A total of 195 students from private and public schools in the CNMI took part in the 2014 island-wide STEM Fair. (NMIS)
