Ross Zapanta, NMIFA general secretary, said each club received 15 soccer balls—10 of them are size 5 balls and 4 are size 4. The clubs have the discretion which of their age group teams will use the donated balls. MP United Football Club, Paire, Tan Holdings, Kanoa, Shirley’s, and Matansa have squads in the co-ed U6, U8, and U10, and U12A and B divisions and in girls and boys U15 divisions. In the U18 division, only MP United, Paire, Matansa, and Tan Holdings have fielded teams.
Team managers or each club’s representatives received the donated balls. MP United’s Seung Joon Lee, Kyoung Min Song, and Alex Park were present at the managers meeting last Sept. 30, while other attendees were Kanoa’s Cristy Villaflor, Tan Holdings’ Lady Vir Canape and Roxe Lazaro, Matansa’s Ho Jin Woo, Shirley’s Puy Macario, and Paire’s Derek Chambers.
Meanwhile, Zapanta said action in the fall league will resume this weekend after Week 2 matches were suspended due to Tropical Storm Champi.
There will be three games in the girls U15 division at the Hopwood Junior High School Field, which will also host two U12A matches and one boys U15 game. The two other boys U15 tiffs will be held in the Oleai Sports Complex Field along with the pair of boys U18 matches. Games in the non-competitive and four other age groups will also resume at the various school fields.
