The Northern Mariana Islands Basketball Federation’s Mini Basketball Village Outreach Program dubbed as “Bola” will continue this Saturday at the Chinatown Basketball Court.

COVID-19 protocols will be implemented to ensure to safety of the participants. Masks and hand sanitizers will be provided.

“We are inviting parents/guardians to come at the Chinatown Basketball Court and bring their children for a two-hour of fun basketball drills and obstacle course games. Our ‘Bola” sessions will help their children learn basic hoops skills and participate in physical activities that are essential in building a strong mind and body,” NMIBF vice president Dave Apatang said.

“Bola” is NMIBF’s play on FIBA’s Basketball For Good program. It is supported by the FIBA Oceania and FIBA Foundation and is envisioned to bring basketball to the heart of the community to empower villages and their leaders in running similar programs and instill village pride through sports and community involvement. ‘Bola’ is held in partnership with the Office of the Governor, the Saipan Mayor’s Office, the Office of Youth Affairs, the Division of Youth Services, the Department of Community and Cultural Affairs, and DCCA’s Sports and Recreation.

Last week, the NMIBF took the program at the Kagman Community Center court, while the remaining “Bola” sessions will be held in San Vicente, As Matuis, and San Antonio. (PR)
