The CNMI Salvation Army has cancelled what was supposed to be its inaugural “Red Kettle Ball” but there is still a way for companies to give through its “Corporate Red Kettle Challenge.”

The recent surge of community cases of COVID-19 prompted the CNMI Salvation Army to cancel the “Red Kettle Ball,” which was supposed to happen on Nov. 19 at Kensington Hotel Saipan.

However, Salvation Army pastor Wayne Gillespie said in an email Tuesday that they have come up with the “Corporate Red Kettle Challenge” to enable private companies to still support the Salvation Army. Gillespie encourages all interested companies to reach out through the CNMI Salvation Army Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/CNMI-Salvation-Army-127642837005.

Afterward, Salvation Army members will bring a red kettle to your business where you can drop a donation check. With permission, the Salvation Army will post a picture of the handoff on its Facebook page.

The cancelled “Inaugural Red Kettle Ball” was supposed to feature an eight-course meal for its guests, live performances by the Pacific Winds Quartet, and awards recognizing the CNMI Salvation Army’s Platinum, Gold, and Silver donors.
