The Northern Marianas College will be hosting two free information sessions on Jan. 4 and 5, 2012.

The first information session, which is open to prospective students and all interested community members, is on Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012, from 5:30pm to 6:30pm in Room D-1 at the college’s As Terlaje campus. The next information session, which is for government and private sector employees, is on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012, from 5:30pm to 6:30pm in Room D-1.

Individuals within the community, as well as government and private sector employees, interested in furthering their education and advancing their professional careers are encouraged to attend these events.

Faculty, staff, and students from the different degree and certificate programs at NMC, as well as Student Services representatives from counseling, financial aid, and admissions will be on hand to answer questions. Other current students will also be speaking about their experiences at NMC.

Those who attend the free information session will also qualify to have their application fee and their placement test fees waived for the upcoming spring 2012 semester. This represents a savings of about $50. Registration for the spring 2012 semester will begin on Monday, Jan. 9, 2012.

NMC offers several degree and certificate programs, including a bachelor of science degree in education (emphasis on elementary education, early childhood education, special education, or rehabilitation and human services), associate degrees in business, business administration (emphasis on accounting, business management, or computer applications), liberal arts, nursing, natural resources management, criminal justice, and hospitality management. Moreover, it offers short-term certificate programs in different vocational, academic, and professional areas.
