NMC to host ‘Cash for College’ workshop
Participants from last year’s “Cash for College” workshop receive one-to-one assistance in filling financial aid forms and other services. The upcoming “Cash for College” workshop will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2018, at NMC’s Building A from 9am to 12pm. (NMC)
Northern Marianas College will be hosting a free “Cash for College” workshop that will assist students and their parents in maximizing scholarship opportunities that are available to students who are pursuing a college degree. Members of all high schools’ graduating Class of 2018 are especially encouraged to attend.
The free workshop will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2018, at the NMC As Terlaje campus in Building A. The workshop will be an ongoing session, so participants can stop by anytime between 9am and 12pm.
Workshop participants will be provided with personal, step-by-step assistance in completing college financial aid forms, focusing especially on forms for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, the Saipan Higher Education Financial Aid, and the CNMI Scholarship.
Staff members from the college’s Office of Admissions and Records will also be present to provide information and assistance with the NMC application process.
Although not required for admission to the Cash for College event, it is recommended that workshop participants bring a valid form of identification (e.g., a valid U.S. passport, copy of valid application for a U.S. passport, birth certificate, or green card), an official transcript from high school (at least three official copies), copy of 2016 and 2017 1040, copy of 2016 and 2017 W-2 (if not filing), and proof of CNMI residency, including proof of continuing residency. Applicants for SHEFA should bring a valid U.S. passport or a voter registration card.
