NMC offers NCLEX preparatory course
The CNMI Area Health Education Center (AHEC), through Northern Marianas College’s Community Development Institute (CDI), is sponsoring a preparatory course for the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) for Registered Nurses this summer.
To become a licensed nurse, candidates in the CNMI and in the U.S. mainland must first pass the NCLEX. To qualify for the course, students must have earned at least an associate’s degree in nursing. The deadline to enroll in this NCLEX-RN Preparatory Course is Friday, June 17, 2016 by 4pm.
The CNMI AHEC will subsidize this preparatory course for those who are residents of the CNMI (i.e. United States citizens and U.S. Green Card holders). Due to limited funding, the subsidy will be awarded on a first-come-first-serve basis. For those who do not qualify for a subsidy, the cost for the course is $470. Students must submit a copy of their highest nursing degree and a valid, government-issued, photo ID (i.e. passport, driver’s license, mayor’s ID, etc.) for verification upon registration.
Course schedule:
• June 17, 2016 to July 30, 2016
• Fridays from 5:30pm to 8pm (2.5 hours)
• Saturdays from 1pm to 4pm (3 hours)
• Contact hours: 42
To register, students can visit the CDI office in Building P at the NMC Saipan campus, or contact Queanna Sablan, AHEC Program Manager, by phone at (670) 237-6809 or by email at queanna.sablan@marianas.edu. (PR)
