NMC nursing graduates pass NCLEX-RN
Northern Marianas College nursing graduates Liqi Huang and Haram Lee have joined the list of students who passed the challenging National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses or NCLEX-RN.
The two graduated from the college in May of this year.
“I want to congratulate Liqi and Haram on becoming the latest graduates to pass this difficult exam and look forward to hearing more about their success as medical professionals,” NMC interim president Frankie Eliptico said.
The NCLEX-RN tests an individual’s nursing knowledge, skills and abilities essential to the safe and effective practice of nursing at the entry level. The exam is used by nursing boards in all U.S. states and territories to award nursing licenses.
“Liqi and Haram have all worked very hard in studying and preparing themselves to pass the NCLEX-RN exam,” said NMC Nursing Department chair Rosa Aldan. “I applaud them for their efforts and dedication and we are proud of their accomplishments. I have no doubt that they will do their very best for our people.”
Huang and Lee passed the NCLEX on their first attempt. According to Huang, the reason why she wanted to pursue a nursing career is so that she could help and care for people.
“The coronavirus pandemic motivated me even more to become a nurse,” Huang said. “I really respect all the nurses who are working during this pandemic.”
Huang said that NMC provided many resources for her to prepare for the exam. “I really liked the Kaplan program provided by NMC, which is a good resource for practicing and preparing for the NCLEX,” Huang said. “I also really appreciated how patient and helpful my instructors were.”
For Lee, the nursing program gave her the help she needed to pass the exam. “There was a live NCLEX-review course available for us to take,” Lee said. “We were able to receive tips and other training on how to be well prepared for the NCLEX.”
Lee’s advice for others who are taking the exam is to not stress too much. “Find the study habits that fit you best,” Lee said.
