NMC Nursing Club Health Fair tomorrow
Start your way to a healthier lifestyle by attending tomorrow’s Health Fair organized by the Northern Marianas College’s Nursing Club. The Health Fair will be held Saturday, April 11, 2015, from 8am to 1pm at the Pedro P. Tenorio Multi-Purpose Center in Susupe.
The Let’s Move Marianas representatives pose at their booth during last year’s Health Fair. Stop by tomorrow to see more information booths at this year’s Health Fair from 8am to 1pm at the Pedro P. Tenorio Multi-Purpose Center. (NMC)
The Health Fair is supported by Subway/Foremost, Let’s Move Marianas Campaign, the College Access Challenge Grant, Area Health Education Center, Division of Public Health, and the Office of the Dean of Student Services.
Fair activities will run from 8am until 1pm and will also feature a 5K Walk starting at 7am. The first 20 participants who finish the 5K Walk will also receive T-shirt prizes. Entrance to the Health Fair and the 5K Walk is free.
Those who attend the Health Fair can also take advantage of the information booths and free health services including free flu immunizations, screenings for blood pressure and blood glucose levels. There will also be various presentations and fitness classes from organizations like the Let’s Move Marianas and Uncle Ben’s Music and Dance Studio. The American Red Cross will be also demonstrating CPR techniques.
Participants may also purchase $1 raffle tickets for a chance to win prizes like a free 18-hole round of golf from Coral Ocean Point and gift certificates from Subway, Kanoa Resort, Gold’s Gym, Fiesta Resort & Spa, and other companies. Funds raised will be donated to the NMC’s Nursing Club to purchase lancets and other supplies used for community service projects.
