NMC info sessions on Jan. 4, 5
Those interested in furthering their education and advancing their professional careers are encouraged to attend free information sessions hosted by the Northern Marianas College on Jan. 4 and 5, 2012.
The first information session, which is open to all prospective students and community members, is on Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012, from 5:30pm to 6:30pm in Room D-1 at the college’s As Terlaje campus. The next information session, which is for government and private sector employees, is on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012, from 5:30pm to 6:3 pm in Room D-1.
At both sessions, NMC faculty, staff, and students from the different degree and certificate programs at NMC, as well as Student Services representatives from counseling, financial aid, and admissions will be on hand to answer questions. Other current students will also be speaking about their experiences at NMC.
At the session for government and private sector employees, other important topics that will be presented include a new spring 2012 semester schedule, which includes more weekend and night classes in order to accommodate working individuals who are not able to attend classes during the workweek. In addition, financial aid options will also be discussed. For instance, the college offers a 50-percent discount on tuition for government employees who are ineligible to receive other scholarships.
Those who attend the free information session will also qualify to have their application fee and their placement test fees waived for the upcoming spring 2012 semester. This represents a savings of about $50. Registration for the spring 2012 semester will begin on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012.
