Individuals interested in furthering their education and advancing their professional careers are encouraged to attend a free information session hosted by the Northern Marianas College on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015.

The information session, which is open to all prospective students and community members, will be from 5pm to 6pm in Room D-1 at the college’s As Terlaje campus. The topics include the college’s new Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, the college, Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) program, and other new initiatives.

College faculty, staff, and students from the different degree and certificate programs at NMC, as well as Student Services representatives from counseling, financial aid, and admissions will also be on hand to provide helpful information and answer questions.

The deadline for submitting admission applications on Dec. 30, 2014, but the college is making an exception for those who attend the info session. Those who plan to submit an admission application for the Spring 2015 semester must submit it at the info session.

Those who attend the information session will qualify to have their application fee and their placement test fees waived for NMC’s upcoming Spring 2015 semester. This represents a savings of about $75.

NMC offers several degree and certificate programs, including a bachelor of science degree in education (emphasis on elementary education, early childhood education, special education, or rehabilitation and human services), bachelor of science degree in business management (new); associate degrees business administration (emphasis on accounting, business management, or computer applications), liberal arts, nursing, natural resources management, criminal justice, and hospitality management. Moreover, it offers short-term certificate programs in different vocational, academic, and professional areas.
