NMC employees asked to report to work Aug. 11
In her continuous updates to the campus, NMC president Dr. Sharon Hart thanked all Northern Marianas College employees for their efforts in helping not only the campus but the community in recovery efforts.
Hart also announced that all employees are to report to work beginning Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2015. Faculty members are to report at 10am, based on information outlined below. Hart indicated that the college will be working with every employee to schedule their work weeks ahead.
“Many of you will be asked to assist with community work efforts, located near your homes, as our participation and involvement in helping our island here is also critical,” Hart said. “We do not need, nor can we accommodate, all employees on campus. We still have significant areas that are hazardous, and only key individuals will be involved in those cleanup efforts.”
It was also announced that on Aug. 11 at 10am in the BOR conference room, the faculty, academic staff, and other key leaders will be meeting to discuss/resolve a number of items: the end of summer semester, upcoming placement testing dates, registration dates, fall semester and spring semester calendar, to name just a few.
“I encourage faculty members to be present, as their work schedule for the semester will be determined at that time,” Hart said.
Hart emphasized the need to formalize the dates for upcoming semester so students can plan their semesters accordingly. She said that the college will use all communication channels to get the word out to students about the new dates for the upcoming semesters. (NMC)
