NJ supports Saipan

Share

As a Hurricane Sandy survivor, who experienced total loss, flooding, and complete loss of utilities in New Jersey, I was saddened to learn that Saipan, in the U.S. territory Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (near Guam) was heavily ravaged by Typhoon Soudelor and left without water or electric. Many homes were also destroyed.

The State of New Jersey should seek to assist the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands in its time of need. The CNMI is a part of America and we should all stand together.

Survivors of the devastation are welcome to stay in New Jersey while their home is being rebuilt. CNMI residents and their families should know that upon arrival in New Jersey’s Ocean or Monmouth counties, motel vouchers will be provided and social services will be available for U.S. citizen families without housing. Children can attend school in local districts.

We are here for you Saipan, you are our fellow Americans. Our home is your home. Stay as long as you need to.
