The CNMI Supreme Court held a private attorney admissions ceremony for Jacqueline A. Nicolas. Nicolas was sworn in by the Chief Justice Alexandro C. Castro and joined by Superior Court Associate Judge Teresa K. Kim-Tenorio, court staff, and close friends.

Nicolas graduated from the University of Riverside, California in 2009 with a double major in Political Science and Law & Society. After receiving a Juris Doctor Degree from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in 2014, Nicolas began clerking for the Kim-Tenorio in the CNMI Superior Court. During her clerkship, Nicolas developed a strong foundation in civil and criminal law by helping decide novel issues and establish legal precedence.

Kim-Tenorio said, “Jackie’s contributions to the Judiciary will have lasting positive effects. Jackie was instrumental in building the foundation of the CNMI Drug Court without a blue print, which is no easy task. Specifically, she drafted proposed legislation, court rules, policies and procedures, and several grant applications. Jackie has also dealt with many different aspects of the Judiciary operations, all while performing her daily tasks as a law clerk.”

Kim-Tenorio concluded by saying, “I am very happy for Jackie and look forward to her continued contributions to the community as an attorney.”
